After the “full house” sign went up early on the first show of 2016, the second Tourism Course-spectacular at Australia’s world-famous Australia Zoo is nearing as job hunters, students and school-leavers across QLD prepare to dramatically boost the State’s Tourism employment platform.

Record and packed houses descended on the Zoo last year to qualify themselves for a career in Tourism through Australia’s top career and course trainer Wise Education while working in surrounds they proudly say are the love of their life.

After the New Year break, the first course back attracted a record enrolment, and the next one is due to start this Thursday, Feb 11 until Feb 25, and with just a few places remaining, Wise Education is urging all potential participants to move quick.

Australia Zoo, on Steve Irwin Way at Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast and the spiritual home of the late legendary crocodile hunter, has reported an “overwhelming popularity and success” for Certificate III & IV qualification courses in Tourism in 2015, with several course participants even landing prize jobs at the Zoo itself!

Education observers & commentators have labelled the venture as a breakthrough in hands-on educational variety where participants learn and qualify while working in the surrounds of one of the world’s great natural tourist attractions. Already, many course graduates have found jobs at the Zoo or in other businesses.

“It’s been an amazing response to what is a unique and very practical way of launching your career,” Wise Chief Executive Kelly North said. “We’ve had to put the ‘full house’ sign up several times, so I urge anyone interested to move quickly and secure a place!”

“This style of course brings a new meaning to fulfilling a desire to learn from the right trainer while absorbing a wonderful up-lifting venue and potential employment opportunities across a very competitive industry.”

The popular course, including a full day private tour of the zoo which counts as a practical session in training, is part of a joint push for greater educational opportunities across QLD from Wise Education and the QLD Government.

“This has been one of the most spectacular learning opportunities to come to QLD, and people shouldn’t miss out,” Ms North said. “To think you can kick-start a career in Tourism while enjoying the professional and beautiful surrounds of the country’s top tourism park is something very inspiring and extremely beneficial in your personal career preparation.”

Australia Zoo – the iconic passion of the Irwins – is considered one of the finest wildlife conservation facilities in the world & its partnership with Wise is thought to be the first of its kind in Australia!

Course runs from 9am to 4pm daily for 12 days.

Potential career outcomes: Attraction or theme park attendant, booking agent, inbound tour coordinator, museum attendant, operations consultant, reservation sales agent, sales consultant, visitor information officer.
