Business, Aged Care, Hospitality driving new working world

Course enrolments with Australia’s top online vocational courses provider Wise Education Group have climbed 25% in 2015!

The latest revelation comes via a new report from the online based organisation tracking enrolment and completion numbers across all online and distance courses, and local workshops across Australia.

The boost in enrolments compared with 2014 has been driven by a significant increase in numbers studying Certificate III in Business and Certificate III in Aged Care; while participants in both Certificate III Hospitality and Certificate III Retail were again very strong!

Wise Education Group Chief Executive Kelly North said the new figures were another reflection on the empowering desire for people of all ages to spread their wings and qualify for a career they really want.

“What we are seeing is greater pro-action from job seekers across a much wider platform. It’s not just those taking their first career steps, but we are seeing more and more people, even across middle age, fast-tracking a long-held desire to qualify and work in an industry they yearn for ,” Ms. North said.

“Certainly, the attraction of Disability & Aged Care qualification has been something of a revelation in the last 12 months, while Hospitality and Business again represent the bread-and-butter appeal to potential workers from a more diverse and ambitious community.”

“ We have so many more course participants now in their 30s, 40s, 50s, even 60s who had worked pretty much in one industry all their lives, but woke up and decided it was time to qualify themselves in an area they had always wanted to challenge. Better later than never, of course!”

In fact, the Hospitality & Business Course offers comprise 30% of Wise Education’s overall 2015 enrolment numbers so far!

Around 33% of all enrolments in 2015 had come from the 18-24 age bracket, ahead of 25-34 (25%); 35-44 (15%); 55-64 (7%); Under 18 (2%) & 65 & Over (1%). Incredibly, the youngest course participant in 2015 was aged just 16 and the oldest 72!
