Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

The industry is substantial. Research shows that 9 out of every 10 four year olds attend some type of formal care. There is general agreement among industry regulators that there is a critical need for long term strategies to recruit and retain a qualified workforce and to ensure that a career in childcare is satisfying, respected and financially viable. Recent changes in government regulations, have increased staff/child ratios. And childcare workers must be qualified with (or working towards) a Certificate III in Early Childhood. 50% of all staff directly supervising children must hold or be working towards a Diploma of Children Services. This qualification is your stepping stone to ensure you are a qualified worker within the industry.

Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care

Outside school hours care is designed to complement the school day, and provide an opportunity for children to relax and play in a supervised, educational and exciting environment. This course will teach you ethical and legal frameworks, health and safety, and cultural competence. Support a child’s wellbeing, learning and development through the Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care course. You will also learn to identify and respond to children at risk, support children to participate, work collaboratively and respectfully with children, support the holistic development of children, promote innovation in a team environment, and much more.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Half of the staff in long day care centres need to hold a diploma-level childhood education qualification. Our specialised course will satisfy this requirement and give you an advanced understanding of all aspects of childcare, particularly from a management perspective. Whilst developing positive and respectful relationships with children and fellow staff, you will reflect on and improve your own professional practice. You will also learn to establish a safe and healthy environment for children, foster their holistic development and wellbeing, nurture creativity, implement strategies, plans and curriculum for child inclusion, and provide emergency first aid response.
