As the population continues to age, there is a rising number of career opportunities for people who have the talent, care and skills to provide encouraging assistance to older people. This course is for those currently working in the aged care sector and are able to meet specific criteria to take their experience to management level. You will learn critical skills in service coordination, financial management, goal-based planning, whilst being able to provide services to older people with complex needs, advocate for clients, facilitate support for personal care needs, coordinate information systems, supervise fellow workers and much more.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, participants are able to continue their learning journey into: CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services.
As part of the assessment to achieve this qualification, you will need to complete at least 120 hours of direct support work in at least one aged care, home and community, disability or community service organisation, as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency CHCCCS023 Support independence and wellbeing.
In order to work in the industry, students must obtain a current Police Check.
